I am a Certified and Highly Qualified Teacher in both Elementary and
Middle School Science grades 5-8. I came to Holmdel's Satz Middle School to
teach 7th grade science in the fall of 2007. Teaching has been a passion of
mine for a long time. In the classroom I use an inquiry-based and hands-on
approach in instruction. I utilize, and have the students utilize,
technology whenever possible. I consider myself to be an extremely
creative, motivating, caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual; all
traits that I know will help the students grow and learn in a positive way.
I am also a Registered Dietitian and Food Scientist having graduated with a
BS degree in Food Science and Nutrition. If you ever have any questions
about nutrition or food science I would be glad to answer them!
Through hands-on experiments, the use of technology, and group activities,
all students will gain positive social skills, work cooperatively
and productively in groups, enhance prior knowledge, and retain material
learned in the 7th grade science curriculum. Students will leave the 7th
grade as critically-thinking, responsible, and contributing individuals
within our society.
