Problem Solving Course Description
The Problem Solving course provides students with a strong background in mathematical problem solving and the ability to explain solutions via writing, reasoning, calculations, and illustrations. The course begins with methods and strategies to become a successful problem solver. The Four Step Method to problems solving will encourage students to read and comprehend math problems, choose an appropriate strategy to solve the problem, calculate, and check for a sensible solution. Students will be able to construct a meaningful and appropriate open-ended response as required on the state testing.
