PTA Events

Depending on the interest and availability of volunteers, the events sponsored by the PTA might change a little from year to year.  The following are planned for the 2012-2013 school year.

Campus Cleanup: Join us in cleaning up the campus for the new school year!  Thursday, September 20 from 3p-5pm at the A. Montoya Campus, we will clean up trash, pick weeds, trim back bushes, and generally beautify the campus.  Families and siblings are welcome: every little bit helps!

Jog-a-thon:  Planned for Friday, September 21st, the Jog-a-thon is A. Montoya's largest fundraiser of the year.  Although the event is during school hours, the amount of family support is amazing.  The meet kicks off with a parade and the judging of class banners.  A course is then set up, and the students are divided by grade.  Throughout the morning, each grade takes their turn lapping the route.  Awards are given to students for the most laps run, the most donations collected, and so forth.  The event takes place in the grassy field between A. Montoya Elementary and Roosevelt Middle School.  This is a high volunteer function, and siblings are welcome to attend.

Fall Fiesta:  Games, food, fun!  Saturday, October 20th will be the annual "Fall Carnival".  Kids can wear their costumes and dinner will be available for purchase.  A great family night that everyone loves!

Elves' Workshop:  This is a day-time activity that enables students to buy inexpensive items for family and friends.  Envelopes will be sent home that can be filled out and returned with money.  Students then can shop for the holidays in secret!  (If you have donations, they can be dropped in the "Elves' Workshop" box outside the main office door. Look under the table.)

Daddy Daughter Dance:  Finally, a place to wear that cute dress!  Girls get an evening out with *dad.  The dance is scheduled for Friday, February 22nd.  Light refreshments and pictures will be on hand.

Mother & Son Game Night:  Scavenger Hunt, Wheel of Misfortune, Blowing competitions...  A night full of activities boys will love (and *mom does not have to worry about repercussions in the house!)  Mark it on the calendar for Friday, April 5th.

Talent Show:  We want to see your katas, cheers, routines, music!  For non-performing arts, tables will be set up for displays.
