Nightly Reading

Good readers will read often. By now you have hopefully found the type of
reading that you enjoy and do it often. No matter what you read, it is good
exercise for your brain. This is why Bandelier Elementary School requires
daily reading for all students. Nightly reading is homework for most students
in upper grades as part of our efforts to reinforce good reading habits.
Remember reading can include:

   Newspapers
   Chapter books
   Magazines
   Recipes
   Comic books
   Cereal Boxes
   Maps/Directions
Internet sites (not games, unless they require reading)
   Nonfiction
   Anything with words!

Nightly Reading homework can be fulfilled in two ways:
A) Fill in the summary boxes on your homework page with parent signature, OR
B) Email a paragraph (3-sentence minimum) summarizing your readings.

Just click on that link on the left side of this page that says "Email" and
send me ONE email by 3:10 PM Friday that summarizes your week of nightly
reading. I look forward to receiving your message!
