Dear Families,

We have a busy month ahead! There is no school on November 11th for
Veteran’s Day. Conferences are coming up on the 23rd and 24th. There is no
school for kids the entire week due to the conference schedule and
Thanksgiving Break. Please return the confirmation note concerning your
child’s conference and plan accordingly for daycare on these days.

Thank you to all for a wonderful Halloween party! The kids had a great time
and all the effort and food was appreciated! I hope everyone enjoyed a great
holiday weekend!

The food drive continues. Thank you for all the donations so far! We have
quite a collection building up. Thank you for your efforts. We are still
collecting dried fruit, cereal, oatmeal, mashed potatoes, and stuffing.

The field trip form for our December field trip was sent home. Please sign
and return this form as soon as possible. We will send a reminder note closer
to the actual trip.

Any UNICEF boxes from Halloween should be turned into the office by Friday.
Thank you for taking the time to collect money for those in need!

We have been reading and learning about landforms and bodies of water. We
will be moving on to the main oceans and continents in our next unit. We have
been practicing money and making change in math and have been studying algebra
through fames and arrows and in and out tables. Please check your child’s
homework to make sure they are getting these concepts correct as they work
independently. In writing, we have been working on informational stories. They
are writing both fiction and non-fiction stories in class.

If your child needs help with fluency in their reading, they will be
receiving a leveled book to practice for the week. Read the note included in
your child’s reading bag to explain the program. This program will start
Monday of next week. Ms. Heggem☺
