PE GRADING.
This year The Physical Ed. grades will be aligned with the Standards-Based Progress Report. This meens that the students will be graded in the following 5 key concepts. Even though the PE units will change throughout the year, these key concepts remain consistant. The students will receive a progress report every 12 weeks. 1. Effort 2. Demonstrates motor skills 3. Demonstrates an understanding of movement concepts and principles 4. Participates in/understands a healthy level of physical fitness. 5. Demonstrates responsible personal & social behavior These key concepts will be part of the weekly PE program and will be continually assessed by the students and the teacher.
Students will be rated on a Four-Point performance scale Level 1 - Student is experiencing difficulty understanding the standards covered in this reporting period. (area of need) Level 2 - Student is near the expectations for the standares covered in this reporting period. Level 3 - Student meets expectations for the standards covered in this reporting period. Level 4 - Student exceeds expectations for the standards covered in this reporting period. Mastery - The Student's work consistently demonstrates that s/he understands and applies the Physical Education content standards. Mastery of the content standards can be achieved at any point of the year.
