OUR NEXT TWO FIELD TRIPS: We have back to back field trips on Dec. 3rd and 4th. Details below ...
NUTCRACKER ON THE ROCKS: On Dec. 3rd, we will be going to the Nutcracker on the Rocks. This is a "dress in your best" occasion. We will be taking a school bus to the "theater" (to be read in a snobby voice). We will be eating lunch in the classroom before we leave, if you would like me to order a lunch for your child from the cafeteria please let me know by Fri. Nov. 20th. Update: All the Nutcracker tickets have been spoken for I even got 2 extra tickets! The volunteers for this field trip are :

EXPLORA WITH OUR BUDDIES: On Dec. 4th, we will be going to Explora with our Big Buddy class (Mr. Beg's 5th graders). We will be walking to the city bus, take the bus to Old Town then walk to Tiguex park, eat lunch in the park then it is off to Explora! We will leave here approx. 10:00 and return approx. 2:30. If you want me to order a lunch for your child from the cafeteria please let me know by Nov. 20th. If you would like to join us on this field trip please let me know by email, note or in person. Three volunteers will get in free if we have more than 3, parents will have to pay entrance fee of $6.00 (if you have an Explora pass you, the parent, can use it to get in free but your child will still have to pay the $6.00 entrance fee with the class).
(OLD, but still worthy, NEWS):
DONATION ITEMS NEEDED: We are going to make and then will be selling our "Holiday Globes" at the annual Bandelier Holiday Bazaar Nov. 14th. We are going to need A LOT of small trinkets/beads/items that will fit into a small (1/2 pint) mason jar. The kind of items that we need will need to not dissolve or go bad in Karo syrup such as plastic, glass, wooden, material and/or metal items. ANYTHING small, and fun to look at...it does not have to relate to a holiday...it can just be colorful, and or fun! We would love to get these items as soon as possible but for sure by the 10th. Thank you so much for your support. If you have any questions please stop by the room I will show you an example of the "things" we need. Thank you for you continued support!
VETERAN'S DAY: Please note there will be no school on Nov. 11th in observance of Veteran's Day.
TRADITIONS/CUSTOMS/CELEBRATIONS: Halloween kicks off our Fall/Winter traditions/customs/celebrations unit. We will be studying different traditions/customs/celebrations that happen especially in the Fall/Winter. If you or your family have a tradition, custom or celebration you would like to share with our class please let me know so we may arrange a time to have you come in to the class and share with us your particular tradition, custom or celebration.
FOOD DRIVE: In November our school, in conjunction with PTA, ask families to donate non-perishable items for Thanksgiving food baskets for Bandelier families in need. We will take what ever you'd like to donate but usually Kindergarten focuses on drink items such as, powdered drinks, tea, hot cocoa, coffee, cider etc... We have a box in our room to collect the items. Thank you all for your support of our Bandelier community!
