Homework

Students who practice skills regularly at home have a great advantage towards
mastery of a concept or skill. Therefore, I will be assigning homework as
follows:

1. Math Homework (unit practice Monday-Thursday evenings)

2. Study spelling words every night to prepare for Friday's weekly spelling
test.

3. If your student in having trouble with any skill in math please visit the
links site and go to AAAmath.com for loads of math practice. It will be very
helpful to both your student and to me as the teacher.

USUALLY, HOMEWORK SHOULD NEVER TAKE MORE THAN 20-30 MINUTES A NIGHT. If your
student is taking longer than that please make sure they are not wasting
time.

Additionally, if students do not utilize their given class time to work, they
may be bringing home classwork to finish. Please encourage your child everyday
to use their class time wisely. This will benefit not only your student, but
will take the pressure off of the parent to supervise class work that should
have been completed and turned in during school.

All assigned homework is due the following morning at 8:00 a.m. If students
are not bringing in their homework, I will keep them in for recess to
complete the work. If the problem becomes extreme, I will notify you in
their weekly behaviorreport or by phone. Please help your student by
making sure they do their homework every night and they have it with them the
next morning. We will go over homework every day, so if your student is
stumpe and you cannot help them, encourage them to try and remind them that
we will go over any trouble spots in class

** Students will only be allowed one excuse of leaving their homework in their
aunt or uncle's trunk or at their grandparent's house** Smile, that was a
joke!
