MAKING GOOD CHOICES
-
Raise your hand before
speaking or getting out of your desk
-
Listen when others are
talking
-
Keep your hands and feet to
yourself
-
Turn in your homework and
projects on time
-
Treat others the way you want
to be treated
-
Use words that are respectful
-
Be responsible for yours and
others' belongings
CONSEQUENCES FOR NOT
MAKING GOOD CHOICES - INDIVIDUALS
-
Students first have a visual
warning - a green card is flipped to red.
-
After a second warning, the
student writes their name on the board.
-
After a third warning, not
bringing in their homework, or not turning in a project or homework on time,
the student writes a letter to their parent explaining what their behavior
was, and what they would do to improve it. The letter must be signed by the
parent and returned to class.

Each Wednesday, we have
banking day. Students can turn in their tickets (worth $1 apiece) and exchange
them for money. They can then purchase items from the treasure chest. Students
keep all transactions in a bank book, which helps students to add and subtract
digits containing decimals - a NM Fourth Grade Standard.
REWARDS FOR MAKING
GOOD CHOICES - AS A GROUP
For each pull out (PE,
Library, Art, Computers) students can earn three points for good behavior.
They can also earn three points if no names are on the board, if they walk
quietly in the hallway, or if they exhibit good behavior during fire drills.
After one hundred points have been earned, the class earns a reward.
