not been picked up within a feew minutes of dismissal time will be taken to
the school office.
Dress
Children should be dressed comfortably and properly for free movement and
play, both indoors and outdoors. Washable clothes and sneakers are
recommended. Please dress your child according to the weather as we usually
go outside. Please label all outer clothing with the child's name. Please
make sure that your child's name is clearly marked on all personal
possessions - coats, sweaters, hats, gloves, schoolbags, etc.
Physical Education
All children will be asked to participate unless they are excused due to
illness by a doctor's recommendation or a parent's note. Comfortable

problems. Only healthy children should be sent to school.

safe container such as a coin purse, wallet, or envelope. Lunch tickets may
be purchased in advance in the cafeteria. Children who bring their lunch to
school should carry it in a sack or lunch box with their name clearly marked
on the outside on the container. REFRIGERATION IN NOT AVAILABLE.
A doctor's statement is necessary for children to qualify for juice.
Birthdays
If your "birthday child" would like to share a small finger food item, such
as cupcakes, muffins, or cookies with the class at snack time, that would be
fine. PLEASE NOTIFY THE TEACHER IN ADVANCE OF YOUR PLANS. NO ICE CREAM AND
CAKE PARTIES DURING CLASS TIME, PLEASE.
Snacks
A nutritious morning or afternoon snack helps provide energy and recharges
learning power. Children are encouraged to bring such a snack for themselves
daily. OKAY - fruit, vegetables, granola bars, nuts, crackers, popcorn, etc.
NOT OKAY - candy, sodas, sugary cookies.
Contacting the Teacher
If you need to contact me during the day, you are always welcome to come into
the classrom. However, discussions of any length must be before school at
8:30am or after school at 3:45pm. I can also receive phone messages, but I
usually don't have a chance to check my mailbox or voice mail until the end
of each school day. If you have an urgent message, ask the office to relay
the message by intercom. Written messages can be delivered to me by your
child.
