Welcome! I am very excited to start the new school year and hope that this site will be a productive form of communication. This tab will alert you to any big class or school announcements or upcoming events. There might be a slight confusion with the last name on the parent letter, and how it coincides with your student's schedule. I got married this summer, and the school has changed some forms with my new last name (Roybal), and some still have my maiden name(Analla). Welcome to the second semester of 6th grade! Hopefully by now, students have a good idea of rules and procedures for our class. There is one change to our classroom procedure that has to do with late work passes. Students will not receive late work passes for the second semester. It is my hope that they have gained knowledge and organizational skills during the first semester of school that will enable them to be successful and be able to turn in assignments on time. Resubmitted work will still be accepted. That is any work that was turned in on time, but students would like to re-do to show comprehension and raise their grade. We will be focusing on new projects and novels this semester. Students will be choosing a self-selected novel from our school library the first week of the second semester, and we will be working on reading strategies. Our class novel for this semester is Roll of Thunder, Hear My cry by Mildred Taylor. We will also be learning about and creating a research paper. I am looking forward to finishing off the year strong and preparing students for their next year! Report cards for the 3rd quarter were sent home with students through their 1B teachers on Thursday, 3/19/09.
