Science Fair is coming up on February 25th. If you would like your child to
enter the Fair let us know and we will send home paperwork.
The next three weeks we will be studying a mixture of topics. We have
begun the editing process with class writing projects. For committees we
will be doing a couple of writing activities one with the book Dear Mrs.
LaRue and another Exploring the Atlas! Look for postcards arriving
home from your student. Other committees include The Valentine's Day Bears,
exploring fractions with pizza, Ruby Bridges and friendship bracelets.
measurement with candy squares, African masks, Follow the Drinking Gourd and
Valentine's Day Celebration.
For the remainder of the school year our class will have the benefit of a
student teacher named Carrie Ortega from UNM. She will be learning from our
classroom and helping with the students. Please welcome Carrie each Thursday
mornings and all day Friday to our class.
