Will there be homework every night?
We only meet three times a week, so homework is no more than three
times a week. Please check the homework link for your course. The Algebra I
Honors course link has all the assignments for this first nine weeks already
posted. Algebra I & IA assignments will be posted soon. That way if you
need to work ahead, you and your parents already know what is coming.
Does that mean there is math homework given on Fridays?
Often that is a true statement.
What about late homework? Can it still be passed in?
That depends on the circumstances. Late homework is accepted for
excused absences up to the number of days of excused absences.
Otherwise it is always best to submit it subject to a possible lower
grade. However, a lower grade is better than a ZERO. My tolerance for
unexcused late homework is quickly diminishing. When you do not do your
homework, then you are not prepared for class. When you are not prepared for
class you learn significantly less. With the double length classes twice a
week, there is no time to waste.
What do I do if my dog ate my homework?
Redo it ... quickly. It should be easier and faster to do the second
time.
Do I really need to bring my book to class every time me meet?
No, only those of you who do not have the book memorized yet really
need to bring your book to class. Okay?
How can we get in contact with you outside of school hours?
The best way to contact me is by email from my home page. The icon of the
two computers passing email in the upper right corner is a link to my
email address for these classes. Unless there is a storm I will
check my email when I get home each evening.*******Parents******** I would be
happy to keep you apprised of your student's progress and classroom behavior
by email.
