When is extra help?

Extra help is offered every 
        Monday at lunch (12:15 to 1:00), 
        Tuesday at lunch (12:15 to 1:00)
        Wednesday afterschool (6-8).  
        Please check the calendar for any minor changes.

When do we have a test?

Math Grade 9's approximately every second week,  
     You have a mental math Every Day.

When is our assignment due?

     Assignments are usually due on the week before a test and 
the corrections are due on the day of the test, as they are a 
review of the work taught in class. Therefor the assignments 
reinforces the concepts that will be tested.  
     Students can always hand work in early(at least 2 days 
before the due date), so that they may learn from their mistakes 
on the assignment before doing the test.

What happens if I don't hand the assignment in on time?

You lose 50% of your mark.  
Example: If after being marked you have a 60%, but it was late so 
you now have 30%.  
On the day assignemts are due the answers are available, therefor 
work is only worth half value.  
GET IT IN ON TIME!! even if it's not finished.

What math should I take in high school?

There are four choices for grade 10:  
Math 10
   (recommended that you have a mark of 80 or better in Math 9), 
Math Plus 
   (recommended that you have a mark of 70 - 79), 
Foundations math 10 
   (recommended that you have a mark of 60 - 69), and 
Math 10 Essentials 
   (currently not passing math 9 up to 59)

When is the Semi formal dance?

The semi formal dance is in June, with our usual start time and 
goes a half hour later, (7 to 10).  
Semi - formal just means to look nice - no fancy clothes are 
needed.  This is not a prom.  
For the exact date please check the calendar in June.

What do I need to pass?

Go for the best mark you can get, not what you need to pass.  If 
you go for the best mark you'll pass. For those of you who need a 
number it's 50.

Do I have to go to summer school?

If math is the only thing you fail and you don't want to take 
math essentials 10, then yes you are going to summer school.  
If you get less than the recommended mark for the math level 
choosen, then I also recommend summer school as it will help 
improve in your math and you will be better prepared for grade 10.
