How are your classes different than private lessons?
Private lessons are geared to one-on-one teaching, usually 30 minutes once a
week. This consists of intense study on a single instrument or voice. My
Orff-Schulwerk classes, 50 minutes long, will allow children to experience a
variety of aspects of music, including playing a wide variety of instruments,
working together with other students to play and create music or movement,
singing, as well as learning to read and write music. Another benefit of
having class with other children is the opportunity to participate in folk
dancing and play party games.
--------------------------------------
How long do your classes run?
My curriculum runs through the entire school year. I will start teaching the
students at the end of August and will continue to build upon their knowledge
throughout the year. You will see a significant difference from their first
Sharing Day to the last one on May 28th.
--------------------------------------
What are Sharing Days?
These are scheduled at the end of every quarter and give the parents an
opportunity to observe what their child(ren) is(are) learning. The first
three are like regular classes with the fourth one being actual performances.
Please see the calendar for specific dates.
--------------------------------------
If my child misses a class, can he/she make it up?
At this time, there are no other days available to give makeup classes. My
fees have one free class included, though.
--------------------------------------
How much do the classes cost?
Fees can be paid quarterly or yearly. A monthly payment plan can also be
arranged. Please see the fees page for prices.
