About The Teacher
Tribute to Teachers On November 20th, 2009 Carol Adamson successfully completed her National Board Teacher Certification for Adolescence and Adult Science Education. The National Board process is a three year endeavor which she has now completed over the last two years. National certification is the highest academic level an accomplished teacher may obtain, exclusive of a Ph.D. One aspect of the National boards is the constant two-way communication between parents/community members and this instructor. So, please feel free to develop an ongoing discourse about your child or student with Mrs. Adamson. She has always had a working relationship with her student's families, but after her two year long pursuit of becoming a National Board Certified Teacher she has come to understand, in even more depth, the importance of maintaining good teacher-parent communication. It is with parents input and support that a true personalized educational plan for each student can grow and student performance and success can truly be measured. Since 1998, KVBC TV-3 has honored numerous outstanding Clark County School District Teachers through the "Tribute To Teachers" campaign. Each month a teacher is recognized in a :30 second television commercial which highlights the teacher's achievements and/or contributions to the community. These commercials can be seen each month in KVBC daytime and evening news programming. Mrs. Adamson has been the recipient of this prestigious award. Mrs. Adamson has recently received a Junior League grant (2009-2010) for construction of a 3-bin composting unit to start a new "green" movement between culinary and science at NWCTA!! Mrs. Adamson is the Department Chair for science at the Northwest Career and Technical Academy. She is the Problem Based Coordinator for NWCTA and is recognized for her curriculum development. Mrs. Adamson is published in the educational magazine National Science Teacher. She has been teaching for 21 years and training other teachers, locally, statewide, and nationally for over 18 years.
