Hello!! I am Miss Hachten and this is my sixth year here at Allegany-
Limestone. For the past five years I conducted the 5th and 6th grade bands
and taught the instrumental lessons throughout the district in all three
buildings. This year however, I will be teaching 7th – 12th grade
instrumental lessons and conducting the Middle School and High School
Bands. This will be my first year teaching 7th – 12th grade, but I am
definitely up for this new challenge!
I enjoy working in such a wonderful school district, but more importantly; I
am thrilled to be working with my former students…who are a wonderful group
of talented and dedicated students!
In 2004 I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Fredonia
State University, where I studied French horn with Dr. Marc Guy. I also
received my Master's Degree in Music Education from Fredonia in 2006.
I am not only an educator; I am also a professional musician. I eagerly
jump at every musical opportunity, which has allowed me to play my French
horn in many different types of music groups. I currently am a member of
the Cheektowaga Symphony Orchestra, the German American Musicians, Inc. (an
organization that I am also the Vice President of), and the Lancaster Town
Band. While working in Allegany, I have also played in the various musicals
the Olean Community Theater Group has performed.
In addition, I keep busy on the weekends teaching private lessons and
working at a family business in Buffalo, New York making furniture polish.
When I can find the time I enjoy going to the gym, golfing, playing
softball, skeet shooting, attending live performances of all different types
of music, and spending time with my friends and family.
