Extra Activities/Enrichment

1. Family Times: Each Monday a new "Family Times" Parent Newsletter
comes home. It always has the new Rhyme Chart for the week (that we
sing together every morning), the new skills, daily activity
suggestions (which link to what we're doing in class that week), and
a "hands-on" learning game on it. Take advantage of it... It's a
really good (and fun) tool for you to use at home with your
children. Extra reinforcement activities can NEVER hurt.

2. At the beginning of each chapter in mathematics, the children
bring home a small copy of a story (that we've introduced the new
chapter with in school) and an introduction page to the chapter out
of their mathematics books. They always have a blue bar across the
top of the page and are labeled with the new chapter title and
theme. On the back of them, you'll find a list of the new vocabulary
words for that chapter and a "hands-on" learning experience for them
to participate in at home. Please put these pages and stories to
good use...These are GREAT five-minute little "reinforcers" that
help to make connections between home and school.
