Graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science in
Education in l965. Awarded Master of Science degree in Education from
Springfield College in Springfield, MA in 1970. Permanently certified to
teach Physical Education for grades K-12; also have permanent certification
in Health, Biology, Earth Science, and General Science. Other areas of
expertise and certifications include physical fitness as a "Physical Best"
Instructor, Soccer Coaching "D" certification, Project Adventure specialized
training, and certification as an AHA Instructor Trainer for the BLS
Healthcare Provider Course as well as the Heartsaver and AED Courses.
I am married and my husband, now retired, was an administrator at Arlington
High School. We have three daughters who graduated from Arlington High
School. One daugher is a college geology professor in Ohio, another daughter
is an attorney and partner in a law firm in Florida, and the third daughter
is a high school special education teacher in New Hampshire.
Sports that I have coached at the high school include Basketball, Field
Hockey, Soccer, Softball, Tennis and Volleyball. I still enjoy those sports
as well as Jogging, Bicycling, Kayaking, Skiing, Swimming, Weight Training,
and, an all time favorite for me, Badminton.
To help my students learn to enjoy movement activities, games, sports, and
wellness concepts so they will want to continue participating in some of
these activities for the rest of their life.
