 If my child is out due to illness, what do I need to do?
If your child is out of school send in a note explaining the absence when 
s/he returns to school. Your do not need to call the school unless you are 
making a homework request.  Homework requests must be made before 9:30AM.

 If I plan to pick up my child , what do I do?
Send a note to school with your child indicating that you will be picking 
him/her up at school.  In the note include your child's name, teacher, and 
time of pick up.  Our instructional day ends at 3:05.  Except for special 
circumstances children should not leave prior to 3:05.

 If my child needs to take a different bus to or from school, what do I need to
If your child child is going to a babysitter after school you need to 
complete a Babysitter Request Form and return it to the office. 
We can not issue bus passes for play dates or other events that are not 
considered a family emergency.

 How do I contact my child's teacher?
We are unable to interrupt a classroom for a telephone call but when you call 
the office, request a call from the teacher and we will see that the message 
is given.  You can also send in a note with your child requesting his/her 
teacher to contact you.

 What is 'Kiss and Go'
If you are bringing your child to school we have a designated drop off area. 
The 
beginning of the school day is very busy.  There are a lot of cars going 
through the parking lot and the busses are arriving. Please drive slowly to 
the drop off area and exit the area as soon as possible. If you need to come 
into the building park your car in a designated parking spot befor entering.

 How do I find out if a class trip is cancelled?
Since the decision to cancel is often made at the last minute, the method of 
parent notification may vary.  Some teachers establish a parent phone chain 
to notify of a cancellation.  A message could be posted on "School Call" (437-
3260. An automatic e-mail message could be sent to you if you have signed up 
for 'Newsflash'.  It could be posted on the Beekman web site.  Again, the 
time the decision to cancel is made influences the best method of parent 
notification.
