Newspaper meets weekly (on Thursdays) in room 110 (Mrs. Stofko's computer
classroom). All are welcome, and new members are encouraged. We put out 5
editions of the newspaper each year and now offer online content as well.
Writers and photographers are needed.
YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS
Young Playwrights Club: next meeting to be announced. Club members focus on
improvisation, theatre games, character
development and writing one-act plays and scenes. Members are taught the
format for scriptwriting, stage directions and use of dialogue. Student-
authored plays are shared and performed by fellow clubmembers. Playwriting
contest entries are encouraged. All grades welcome, new members encouraged.
DRAMA
LMS produces staged plays during the fall and spring semesters. Cast is
selected by audition process, and all grades are welcome to try out.
Announcements are made prior to the casting process for each show. *Please
be aware that participation in a drama production is a major commitment of
time and energy. It is similar to playing on a varsity sport. Rehearsals are
scheduled in advance, at least 4x per week, with daily rehearsals during the
final weeks. Attendance is expected at all rehearsals, unless a reasonable
excuse is provided. Poor attendance will result in recasting of role.*
