TUESDAY OCT. 14: Summer reading due.
We will be working on draft of Iron Giant assessment. (Wed-Fri we will meet
in the computer lab to type our final copies). Essays will be done IN CLASS
as this is an assessment of student writing. Students coming to class without
the packet and essay draft will be asked to start over! The last day
assessment essays will be accepted without penalty is Wed. Oct. 22nd. Work
turned in later than 10/22 will receive a grade no better than a 60.
WEEK OF OCT 6 - 10:
MONDAY- FRIDAY: We will be watching the animated science fiction movie The
Iron Giant as a wrap up for our sci fi unit. A packet for notes and analysis
was given in class on Monday, and should be worked on throughout the week.
Following the movie, we will be writing a district assessment essay
critically reviewing it. We'll use the notes packet to help draft the essay
on Friday. The final copy will be typed in the computer lab next week.
