1. ADDEND- A NUMBER THAT IS ADDED TO ANOTHER NUMBER TO FIND A SUM IS
CALLED AN ADDEND. In 4 +6 = 10, 4 and 6 are addends and 1 is the sum
2. DIFFERENCE- THE AMOUNT THAT IS LEFT AFTER ONE NUMBER IS SUBTRACTED
FROM ANOTHER IS CALLED THE DIFFERENCE. In 11-6= 5, 5 is the difference.
3. PRODUCT- THE AMOUNT THAT RESULTS FROM MULTIPLYING TWO OR MORE NUMBERS
TOGETHER IS CALLED THE PRODUCT. In 2x3=6 6 is the product and 2 and 3 are the
factors.
4. QUOTIENT- THE AMOUNT THAT RESULTS FROM DIVIDING ONE NUMBER BY ANOTHER
IS CALLED THE QUOTIENT. In 14 / 2 = 2, 2 is quotient 14 is the dividend and
7 is the divisor.
5. SUM- THE RESULTS OF ADDING TOW OR MORE ADDENDS IS CALLED THEIR SUM.
In 2+4=6 6 is the sum, 2 and 4 are the addends.
