Can I send in treats for my child's birthday?

We love to celebrate birthdays in our class. We have   students. Please be 
sure to send in napkins. Cookies, cupcakes or ice cream 
treats are best. NO cakes please.

What time is lunch?

Our lunch and recess period is 11:50-12:30p.m. Our lunch assistant is Ms. 
Thorne.

Do the children have snack daily?

Yes, because of our late lunch, students will have 15 minutes each morning 
for snack. Please send in snacks that can be consumed during this time frame.

How much help should I give my child with homework?

Homework is intended to be a review of learned skills. You may need to help 
with directions and guidance in getting started. If your child is spending 
more than 20 minutes on any given "task" please let me know so we can work 
together to help your child.

Should I still read to my child ?

Definitely! Reading a book that is more challenging to your child can improve 
their vocabulary. Discussing the book will enhance comprehension skills. 
Listening to adults read helps promote fluency.

How can I help my child learn the sight vocabulary?

Put the sight words handed out at Back To School Night on flashcards and work 
with them everynight.  In addition you can add color words and number words 
to the pile.
