Is there a Regents Exam in Global Studies?

There is a New York State Regents Exam for Global Studies every
June. However, only Global Studies II students take the Global
Regents. The Global Regents is based on material covered in both
Global I & II, though. Students must pass both Global Studies II
and the Regents Exam in order to get credit towards their Regents
Diploma.

What is the Global I final?

Even though Global I students do not take a Regents Exam at the
end of the year, they must take Arlington High School's Global I
final. Students are not required to pass this exam, but it does
count as 20% of their overall average for the year. Students
must maintain at least a 65 average in order to pass Global I.

How can I get into contact with Mr. Schmitt?

The best way to contact me is via email. Due to conflicting
schedules, phone contact can sometimes become difficult. My
email address is dschmitt@acsdny.org. If you wish to contact me
over the phone I can be reached through the school at (845)-486-
4860.

I believe that all parent/guardian contact is helpful and
positive so please contact me about any concerns that you or your
child may have.

How can I get extra help in Global this year?

Extra help is made by appointment. If a student wishes to
receive extra help they need to contact me before or after class
so we can work out a date and time for the session. Extra help
will be offered before or after school depending on the needs of
the student.
