Mr. Schmitt is a fourth-year teacher at Arlington High School; however, this
will be his sixth year in the classroom. Mr. Schmitt attended Providence
College where he majored in History and Secondary Education. He also
completed his Masters’ Degree at Stony Brook University in 2007. Mr.
Schmitt taught middle school level social studies for two years on Long
Island in the Smithtown and Sayville school districts before he made the
switch to Arlington CSD.
In addition to teaching, Mr. Schmitt also coached lacrosse at Arlington High
School. He was fortunate enough to be a part of the first League
Championship for Arlington High School lacrosse in the spring of 2007 and a
big sectional win over Wappingers in the spring of 2009. Mr.
Schmitt also coached volleyball at LaGrange Middle School, and he
coached girls JV basketball at AHS from 2007 until 2009.
This year in Global Studies I & II students will gain invaluable knowledge
and understanding about the world outside of the United States. Students
will diligently work through thousands of years of history in order to
become more well-rounded young adults and informed citizens in our ever-
shrinking global village, also known as planet earth.
