What if my child is absent or has lessons during your class?

Missed class work can be made up in a variety of ways. They can 
make up the 
assignment missed by using the computers in the library or in the 
computer 
lab. A student must make arrangements with me regarding this.

Will my child fail if they cannot type?

Students that have undeveloped typing skills are encouraged to 
practice 
during their free time.  The computer lab is open after school 
most days and 
permits the students to practice with Ultra Key.  Any typing 
tutor 
used at home will help to build their skills.  The key to 
building skills is 
to remember not to look at the keys!

Will you teach my child to type?

Due to the amount of time given to complete three enormous 
programs (Word, 
Excel and Power Point) there is not enough time to adequately 
teach 
keyboading.  
What we do have available is UltraKey, a typing tutor.  As a 
student finishes 
their class assignments, they are permitted to practice their 
typing skills 
through this independent typing tutor.  It includes drill and 
practice in 
addition to games that keep their interest peeked.

Why doesn't my child have homework in your class?

Due to the variety of software programs available it is easier to 
have 
everyone using the same program.  Students receive direct 
instruction at the 
beginning of an assignment.  Afterwards, they read from step-by-
step 
directions which include screen shots to complete the assignment 
independently.  As the need arises, I assist the students in 
areas that need 
further explanation.
