I have been teaching in Arlington for fifteen years. This is
my sixth year at Union Vale Middle School. I previously taught at
Arlington Middle School.
I graduated from PACE University with a degree in Business Education and
later graduated from Western Connecticut State Universtity with a degree in
Instructional Technology. I am also the Systems Operator for the building
and am responsible for maintaining the computers at all times. In addition,
I am the department Liaison for Home and Career, Computer, and
Music.
I currently live in Poughquag and I am proud to be a member of the community
in which I teach.
Students of Union Vale Middle School will be proficient in Microsoft Word,
Excel, and PowerPoint by the end of the semester. This course will give
students a renewed understanding of Microsoft Office. In addation, students
will be introduced to i-Campus, an online collaborative learning environment.
iCampus allows students to complete a significant portion of their course
work in all subject areas off-campus in an online environment using
educational technology over the Internet.
Many students have access to a computer at home. However, the majority of
their skills involve instant messaging and surfing the Internet. This
course will teach them how to be safe, expand their horizons, and expose them
to the tools available in Microsoft Office. These tools will hopefully
improve their computer proficiency for all subjects in the future and any
computer activites that may occur in everyday life.
