Permission slips were sent home today, September 29, for the children who
will be receiving reading support. Please sign and return to your child's
teacher.
The children will soon be bring home a plastic bag with a book to read each
evening and a reading log for the parent to initial. Yes, it is perfectly
fine for parents to read the book to first graders, but for second graders,
the primary reader is the child. Please be there to discuss the
illustrations, ask questions for comprehension, and encourage repeated
readings.
