"YOU MUST BE THE CHANGE YOU WISH TO SEE IN THE WORLD." Mahatma Ghandi
This page is intended to be a compendium of community service opportunities for our students to enable them to "Be the Change." (Remember that 1st assembly freshman year?) Please avail yourself of these opportunities but also please let us know about other community service needs that we could be listing by emailing them to firstname.lastname@example.org
1. Peer Tutoring. Contact the guidance office to sign up for tutoring a peer in a subject you're skilled in.
2. The LaGrange Library has several opportunities for community service. Mrs. Wise organizes and runs a teen group which creates and implements various programs and fundraising for the library. They raise money for the library and teen programs by doing car washes and making chocolate for holiday sales. The group also works with disabled adults and children's programs. They meet about once a month to plan programs. The teen group is guided by Mrs. Wise but run by the teens using their ideas. If anyone is interested they may contact the library or e-mail Mrs. Wise at email@example.com . Please note the teen group is TLC. Also, there are many opportunities for you to help but you do not need to commit to every one.
