What is the CIA?

CIA stands for the Culinary Institute of America located in Hyde Park, NY.  
It is one of the leading cooking schools in the nation.

What is J&W?

J&W is Johnson & Wales University which operated four campuses, Providence 
Rhode Island, Denver Colorado, North Miami Florida, and Charleston South 
Carolina.

Are there other cooking schools?

Yes, there are many other cooking schools, some located right here in New 
York State.  There is a program at Sullivan Community College, Alfred State, 
SUNY Cobeskill, SUNY Oneonta (FACS Teacher) and the French Culinary Insitute 
in New York City.

What is FCCLA Culinary Arts?

This is a cooking club that meets afterschool.  We are affiliated with the 
Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America, which is a leadership 
organization that also has cooking competitions.

Did you say Cooking Competetions???

Yes, students from all over New York State come and compete in Culinary Arts 
and Baking and Pastry.  The top winners are awarded scholarships to the 
Culinary Institute and Johnson and Wales University, as well as a chance to 
represent New York State at the National Cooking Competition in July.
