Happy New Year!
It has come to my attention that the address on the bottom of the Great Map Race letter is incorrect. It should read:
c/o Mr. Adams
Vail Farm Elementary School
1659 E. Noxon Rd.
LaGrangeville, NY 12540
Here are a few things to keep in mind.
I gave a pretest on the 50 states and capitals before the break. Two students got a perfect score on this, which is quite an accomplishment! The rest of this body of work will consist of 6 quizzes that add 10 states and their capitals each time. The last quiz will be all 50 states and capitals again. I will then be able to show the students how much they have improved over the first pretest they took. I shared a few websites where students can review and practice. They are linked from my webpage.
Tuesday, Jan 12 - Muscular and Skeletal Systems quiz. A study guide will be coming home shortly.
Wednesday, Jan 13 - States and Capitals quiz 1. States numbers 1-10. Students have a numbered map and we have reviewed these in class.
Be well,

At this point, it looks like we should have the candles sometime on Monday. That would mean pick up would be Tuesday morning and afternoon. Thank you for your patience.

The candles have arrived! They will be available for pick up at school on Wednesday from 8:00-8:40 and from 3:00-4:00 and again on Friday morning from 8:00-8:40. Any that are not picked up at those times will be available for pick up at the main office after that.
Have a great week.

Greetings!
Well, conferences are over, Thanksgiving is behind us and we are looking on toward a new year! Before you know it we will be halfway to 6th grade. Here are some things to keep you up to speed with what's going on around here.
With the holidays and short weeks behind us for a while, we are once again working on spelling. Words will be given on Mondays, with a test and homework due on Thursdays.
With the social studies test over, we will be focusing primarily on science between now and the winter break. There will be a quiz on the circulatory and respiratory systems on Tuesday, December 8. Students have this information in their notebooks. We will be doing some review in class, but please urge students to seriously study. The quiz will focus on the major parts and major functions of each system.
Keep in touch if you have any questions.
