Greetings all!
Here are a few updates. As always, please contact me if you have any questions.
We have been studying how a bill becomes a law and actually held a mock Congress and wrote, debated and voted on a few bills. The bills that passed will go to the President next week for his signature or veto. There will be a quiz on how a bill becomes a law on Tuesday, 11/10. Students made a review sheet/flow chart yesterday to study from. The quiz will be very similar to the review sheet.
Parent teacher conferences are scheduled for November 9th and 17th. If you have not yet received confirmation from me of the time and date of your conference, please let me know. Dismissal on these days will be 11:30.
Packets and information regarding the candle fundraiser to benefit individual student cost of the Ashokan trip will go home today to all students with the exception of those who have confirmed that they are not going on the trip. If you know that your child will not be going, simply return the packet of fund raising information with the slip telling us that they are not going on the trip. As of right now I have confirmation one way or another from about half of the class. Please send in Ashokan confirmation forms by Friday, 11/13
November 11 - no school: veterans day
November 25-27 - no school: Thanksgiving recess.
