Welcome to 8th grade.
Welcome to Team 6.
Welcome to Mr. Franks' Math Class.
This will be a good year, a fun year, and a productive year, if you stay on top of things. Come to class ready, be engaged, keep up with your homework, notes, and studying. Ask questions. Check with your friends to see if your understandings and ideas match with their understandings and ideas. If not, discuss it with them. Talk to your parents, about all kinds of things, but throw in a little math, too. Catch me in a mistake; it could happen, and it's fun to show up the teacher. Go to Math Lab, when you are confused, or when you aren't confused, and just want a quiet place to work on math, or one where a teacher can answer a quick question. Look for the math and the logic underlying the world.
You may always e-mail me. My
