How many classes can a student miss before they are failing PE?

A student can miss 4 classes for the marking period or 8 classes for the 
semester, assuming no other points were lost during classes which they were 
in attendance.(see grading policy)  These misses include being absent from 
school, music lessons, field trip, unprepared, cutting class etc......

What classes can a student make up?

A student can make up a class if they were legally absent from class that 
day.  Legal reasons include being absent from school (with re-admit pass), 
music lessons, field trips, medical excuse.  Classes that are cut or classes 
in which a student was unprepared may not be made up!!!

Who is eligible to participate in the independent study program?

Any upper classmen (grade 10 - 12) that has not failed a previous semester of 
PE is eligible to participate in the independent study program.  
Informational meetings are held at the beginning of each semester.
