Our Student Council members kicked off our new
school year with ourFall Food Drive. During the drive, canned goods and
packaged foods are collected for our less fortunate neighbors. Items will be
collected until November 16th. The Fall Food Drive is a wonderful way for our
school community to make a difference to Dutchess County families.
Our Third, Fourth and Fifth grade representatives
on Student Council continue to be responsible leaders and positive role models
for the entire school community. The representatives hold class meetings and
voice their classmates' concerns during Council meetings. Various service
projects are discussed and voted upon each semester. Council members also help
operate the School Store in the Lobby each morning.
Past projects have included raising money for the
Red Cross to benefit Tsumani victims, food drives for local food pantries and
raising money for the Heifer International Animal program.
I am proud to be the Faculty Advisor of these
caring and thoughtful student leaders.
Thank you for your continued support of our
Student Council!
