Homework policy:
Homework is essential to the learning and memorization process. It is one
way
to practice and perfect the material presented in class. There will be an
average of three written assignments per week which will be checked
regularly, and sometimes collected. Answers to homework must be written out
in complete sentences for full credit unless otherwise directed. Each
homework is worth 2 points.
There are two standing homework assignments for all returned tests and
quizzes. 1)A parent must review and sign the grade and have your child
return it to class for one point. 2)Students will be required to make
corrections on all test and quizzes so they learn from their mistakes.This is
worth 2 points. Homework points will be included in the quarter’s average.
There will be a standing assignment to review notes, grammar and vocabulary
every night.

Wednesday 9/9: Course outline signatures and parent info. returned to class.
Thursday 9/10: Fare la conoscenza questions... review them tonight and get
ready to "interview" each other tomorrow.
Friday 9/11: Intervista... after the interviews discuss what we learned.
Monday 9/14: Review packet on Greetings and Courtesy Expressions. Complete HW
ex A/B/C/D for tomorrow.
Tuesday 9/15:Correct HW exercises together. Finish the rest of the packet
together in class. Last page of packet is another vocab list that we will
look at together in class and will be included in what you should study for
your first quiz.
Wednesday 9/16: Classroom expressions wkshts... Review/ complete together in
class as much as possible today and finishing tomorrow. Keep studying for
quiz!!
Thursday 9/17:Complete Classroom Expressions review. Start Review word search
sheet in class if time allows. Finish for HW. Study for quiz!!
Friday 9/18: Vocab Review sheet corrections/ Review for quiz Monday. Study
this weekend!
Monday 9/21: Vocab quiz
Tuesday, 9/22: Vocab Packet... Personal Identification. We will start
completing the list in class. Where we leave off is where you will need to
continue and complete at home... front and back of first page.
Wednesday, 9/23: We will continue in class with completion of the vocab and
expressions. Complete the first 2 exercises A and B at home. ( If you don't
know who the people are in part B... ask your parents... or "google" it!)
Thursday, 9/24: PROJECT... assigned and discussed in class today. DUE on
Tuesday 9/29. You must also have the SPEAKING portion prepared and ready to
present at this time as well.
Friday, 9/25: Continue in Vocab Packet in class.
Monday, 9/28: NO SCHOOL!! ( YAY)
Tuesday, 9/29: Projects/ Presentations due today!! These will take most of
the period. Continue reviewing vocab in the packet as well ... a little bit
every night!
Wednesday, 9/30: Projects/ Presentations continue today in class. If you
haven't already... get the next set of HW ex. done... C/ D/ E for Thursday as
we will start with them in class as soon as the last few presentations are
done.
Thursday, 10/1: Finish presentations. Correct HW ex C/D/E. Start the next
page of questions together... whatever we don't finish is for HW.
Friday, 10/2: Complete Question ex... find out who in class fits the
descriptions. Start last page of HW ... these are "REALLY CLOSE" to what type
of questions you might see on your QUIZ early next week. Anything we don't
finish in class is HW for Monday.
Monday, 10/5: Packet on Personal Identification review should be complete. We
will review for the quiz together. Study for HW... QUIZ Wednesday.
Tuesday, 10/6: Practice Listening comprehension section ( pictures to
identify). Review for vocab quiz tomorrow... "sample" questions. Next vocab
quiz on Friday... adjectives from vocab list. Review together as much as time
allows.
Wednesday, 10/7: Personal ID quiz.
Thursday, 10/8: Review vocab for Friday's quiz. Start review of Nouns and
Articles... using the book in class and wkshts / notes from class.
Nouns/endings ... number and gender. Start indefinite articles a/ an (
un/uno/una/un')
Friday, 10/9: Vocab quiz... adjectives. Continue as time allows with nouns
and Articles in class.
MID MARKING PERIOD... progress reports will come next week.
Tuesday, 10/ 13: In book ( in classroom) READ/ REVIEW pages 33 - 34 on Nouns
gender and the indefinite article ( forms of "a/ an"); READ/REVIEW pages 48 -
49 on Noun endings indicating number and gender. DO ex A/ C. READ/ REVIEW
pages 50 - 52 on Definite Articles ( forms of "the")DO ex F/G/I/J. Work in
class with a partner.
Wednesday, 10/14: Finish book work if not already. Notes on Board and
Wkshts: review of Nouns and Articles. Quiz Friday on Definite and Indefinite
Articles.
Thursday, 10/15: Check book exercises. Correct together in class. Wksht
review for quiz tomorrow.
Friday, 10/16: Review for quiz first 15ish minutes of class. Quiz end of
class. Start reviewing making nouns singular - plural and plural - singular
for quiz next Wednesday.
Monday, 10/19: Go over (belated) corrections of Personal Id quiz from 10/ 7
and Adjectives quiz from 10/9. Also hand back and go over corrections of
Definite and Indefinite Articles quiz from Friday. All signatures and
corrections due in the next day or two please.
Tuesday, 10/20: Review for quiz on Nouns... singular and plural
formations ... using notes on board, the book work from last week ( pages 48 -
51) and a new worksheet in class. Finish the worksheet at home and we will
use it to "warm up" for the quiz tomorrow.
Wednesday, 10/21: Quiz on Nouns in the singular and plural.
Thursday, 10/22: New Review Packet Subject ( and stress ) Pronouns.
Did A together in class. Do B and C tonight. Attempt D if you think you can.
Friday, 10/23: Complete review packet. Quiz Tuesday, 10/27.
Monday, 10/26: Return Noun quiz. Go over corrections as HW. Review for
Subject/Stress Pronoun quiz on Tuesday.
Tuesday, 10/27: Quiz Subject/ Stress pronouns. New Review packet on Present
tense verbs. Start review exercises if time allows in class.
Wednesday, 10/28; Return quiz. Go over corrections as HW. Present Tense of
verbs in Italian... stem + ending review of regular verbs. Quiz # 2 on
Thursday. Complete first 2 HW exercises ( -are - ere) verbs .
Thursday, 10/29: Quiz # 2 on subject and stress pronouns. Continue Present
tense verb review of REGULAR verbs. Do HW exercises on (-ere -ire ) verbs.
