Homework policy:
Homework is essential to the learning and memorization process. It is one
way to practice and perfect the material presented in class. There will be an
average of three written assignments per week which will be checked
regularly, and sometimes collected. Answers to homework must be written out
in complete sentences for full credit unless otherwise directed. Each
homework is worth 2 points.
There are two standing homework assignments for all returned tests and
quizzes. 1)A parent must review and sign the grade and have your child
return it to class for one point. 2)Students will be required to make
corrections on all test and quizzes so they learn from their mistakes.This is
worth 2 points. Homework points will be included in the quarter’s average.
There will be a standing assignment to review notes, grammar and vocabulary
every night.

Wednesday 9/9: Return course information sheets with parent signature and
contact info.
Thursday 9/10: Fare la conoscenza wksht... review questions and possible
responses tonight and be prepared to "interview" your classmates tomorrow.
Friday 9/11: Intervista... then we will discuss what we learn about each
other.
Monday 9/14: Complete the intervista discussion... New review packet...
Present Indicative verbs. Notes on board and in packet.
Tuesday 9/15: Continue verb review. Regular verbs quiz Friday. Start looking
at irregular verbs charts... make sure you know definitions as well as
forms. Complete ex.1 A/B/C p 12. for tomorrow.
Wednesday 9/16: Correct HW ex together in class. Discuss usage of Present
Indicative. Continue looking at irregular verbs chart. Complete Ex 2 p. 13
for tomorrow. Quiz on REGULAR verbs on Friday.
Thursday 9/17: Correct HW ex together in class... take the "personality quiz"
for :o) then continue in packet if time allows. Complete ex. 3/4/5 for
tomorrow after the quiz. Quiz on REGULAR verbs only tomorrow.
Friday 9/18: Verb quiz. Correct HW together . Continue review of Irregular
Verbs charts... quizzes( 3 smaller vs one big ) early next week... Tuesday /
Wednesday / Thursday
Monday, 9/21: HW check pp 14 - 15 ex 3/4/5. Continue definitions and
discussions of the irregularities of the verbs in the packet. First quiz
tomorrow on the first row of 7 verbs. Correct/translate together ex 3.
Tuesday, 9/22: Quiz # 1. Continue review of verbs for tomorrow's quiz # 2...
next row of 7 irregular verbs. Correct/translate together ex 4.
Wednesday, 9/23: Quiz # 2. Continue review of verbs for quiz #3 ... last 2
lines of 8 verbs ( don't forget Dovere/ Potere/ Volere) . Correct/translate
ex5.
Thursday, 9/24: Quiz # 3. Complete review packet in class and at home.
Friday, September 25: Complete Present Tense verb review packet once and for
all! (YAY)
Monday, 9/28: NO SCHOOL!!!
Tuesday, 9/29: Start new vocab unit... Community and Neighborhood. We will
start the definitions together in class. You will need to complete up through
the section that says "I VERBI" tonight for homework using your dictionary
and/ or computer.
Wednesday, 9/30 : We will "correct" the vocab definitions and continue
completing the list together. Any definitions we don't get done together will
be your homework this evening. Complete the list.
Thursday, 10/1: Open House/ half day. Please use this time to review new
vocab list. (Per 3... game day! since I won't see my afternoon classes)
Friday, 10/2: Complete going over the new vocab list. Project will be
assigned next week... start "brainstorming" over the weekend.
Monday, 10/5: Go over quiz corrections from Irregular verbs # 2. Community
project assigned/ explained. Rough draft due Wednesday. Final project due
Friday. Go over vocab for a quiz on Thursday ( 25 out of the first 40ish
words on your list... I told you exactly which ones in class!)
Tuesday, 10/6: Go through more project ideas. Start Vocab review sheet
together in class... clues and translations. Discuss the Impersonal "si" use
of verbs... ( si trova/ si vende/ si compra/ si parla... etc)
Wednesday, 10/7: Rough draft of project due. I will be "correcting" them in
class so make sure you have something with you that I can help you with.
Thursday , 10/8: Vocab quiz. Continue wksht with vocab clues and translations
after the quiz.
Friday, 10/9: Project due. Continue in Pkt... finish the last few
translations and move forward in Pkt to the next page on Ordinal numbers.
After that we will look at my "slide show" that will help illustrate some of
the community vocab.
MID MARKING PERIOD: Progress Reports will be coming out this week.
Tuesday, 10/13:In Community Packet... Reading Comprehension passages and
exercises... start in class finish at home... B/C/D.
Also... new wksht/ essay... Real Estate agent ... due Thursday.
Wednesday, 10/14: Finish HW review... Readings and B/C/D. If time at the end,
review examples, suggestions for the essay due tomorrow.
Thursday, 10/15: Essays due. Give 5 - 10 minute "peer edit" opportunity
before handing it in. Continue in Packet... Complete together Reading/
Translations/Discussion of ex E/F/G/H. Finish packet tonight at home... Ex I
through P.
Friday, 10/16: Read/ Translate/ Discuss the end of the packet... FINITO!!!
Final vocab quiz early next week... Tuesday ish?
Monday, 10/19: Return/correct vocab quiz #1 on community. Get it signed. Hand
out new packet on Imperative ... notes/ charts on board as well.
Start "review" of Imperative. ( Should have seen this before )
Tuesday, 10/20: Review vocab for quiz on Thursday... LOTS of notes on board.
