Homework

Homework Policy

When homework in not completed or not present in school when it is due, students are required to make it up during choice time.

Students may also use a homework pass.  Homework passes are earned when students complete the Write to the Point section in the spelling book.

Weekly Assigned Homework

Students will have spelling homework Monday - Thursday.

Monday - 3 times each and the Checkpoint

Tuesday - Spelling word story

Wednesday - Skills page for example:  alphabetical order, punctuation

Thursday - Sentences for Challenge Words and Proofreading

Advanced Spelling Group Homework

Monday  Write each word three times each in your spelling notebook.

 Tuesday   Put your list in alphabetical (ABC) order. Please write the words in your spelling notebook.

Wednesday  Using at least eight of your words, write sentences that show the meanings of the words.

 Thursday Choose one of the following:

         Create a story or poem using most of your spelling words.

         Create a crossword puzzle using at least 10 of the spelling words.

If you choose to work on both, you can earn a homework pass.

Math homework will be given Monday - Friday.
On days where a test or quiz has been given, there will be no homework.

In addition, cursive handwriting practice may be added as the year progresses.
