This website will provide you with general information as well as
updated announcements and reminders.
SPECIAL CLASS STUDENTS/RESOURCE/RTI STUDENTS:
We will be doing a special holiday project on Thursday, December 17th.
(snow date Friday, December 18)
There will be a holiday breakfast for all the children in room 104 on
Tuesday, December 22 from 10:00-11:00. Parents are welcome to attend.
During the next two weeks our whole group reading lessons will focus on
reading strategies. Reading comprehension will be the area of focus. The
children will learn to answer various kinds of comprehension questions. They
will become familiar with terms such as right there, on your own,
and author and me. This will help them identify the type of question and what
they need to do to answer it.
The children will begin using their individual sight word pockets. We
will be developing sentences for each word so the children can use meaning
to decode the words they are having difficulty remembering.
In writing, we will spend time working on the parts of a story.
SPECIAL CLASS STUDENTS:
The children will not have homework from December 14-23. Homework will
resume on Monday, January 4, 2010.
RESOURCE / RTI STUDENTS:
The children will not be getting extra books to take home from December
14-23. They will begin getting books again on Monday, January 4, 2010
