From 11:45 to 12:50 is our Language Arts Block. All reading groups will
begin reading a new novel after Thanksgiving. All students will participate
in Literature Circles. They were INTRODUCED to the concept and format mid
way through the reading of their last novel. They will be critically
evaluated on their participation and work in regard to the next book read.
In addition, our entire class has begun reading “A Wrinkle in Time"
By Madeleine L'Engle. After every few chapters students will be required to
fulfill a number of comprehension and writing activities. Students will
continue to write in their journals daily as well. We will also continue to
review and work on the parts of speech. The ELA Test takes place right after
the Christmas/New Years break. PLEASE encourage your child to read at home
each night for at LEAST 20 minutes a night. I have plenty of genres and
