Another school year is ready to begin and I look forward to working with both
our students and teachers. I find middle school students are both
interesting and challenging. A day seldom goes by that I don't laugh; our
students are bright and funny. I enjoy their visits to the library immensely!
This summer I had the opportunity and privilege to work with other school
library media specialists from around the state. We discussed the Standards
for the 21st Century Learner. These were developed by the American
Association of School Librarians and have been met with acclaim by educators
throughout the country. We delved into the details, learned more about them
and shared ideas for using these standards with our students and teachers.
You can read about these standards at

Please remember that you can easily contact me by clicking on the mailbox
icon at the top of the library webpage. The schoolhouse icon will bring you
to the LaGrange Middle School home page. Don’t forget to check out the
District webpage, too, as there is a great deal of information to be found
there. Take some time to browse around. Among other items, you'll find
news, reading lists and event calendars.
I’m looking forward to a wonderful year -- reading, learning, and growing
together.

The mission of the Library Media Program is to ensure that students and
staff are effective users of ideas and information and to promote the
enjoyment of reading, viewing, writing and listening. Our objective is to
assist our students in reaching their personal goals through the skills and
knowledge of life-long learners.
