| The Scientific Method in brief
To think like a scientist, use these steps to ask and answer scientific
questions. Be a careful questioner and a careful observer!
1. Ask a question.
2. Do background research. Find out more about your subject.
3. Form a hypothesis (an educated guess).
4. Test your hypothesis.
5. Analyze the results and draw a conclusion.

| Books that contain lots of science experiments about many different
branches of science may be found with call numbers that are near 507.
Physics (the science of matter and energy, including bouyancy, heat,
light, magnetism, electricity, sound) will be found from 530 to 539. Try the
540s for Chemistry, 550s for Earth Sciences, including geology and weather,
570s for Life Sciences, 580s for Plants, 590s for animals.
