| Homework calendars will be sent home on a monthly basis, starting with
October. Most likely, the homework calendar will be stapled to the monthly
newsletter. Homework will be assigned on Monday through Thursday evenings,
with Monday's assignment being due on Tuesday, Tuesday's assignment being
due on Wednesday, etc. Please have your child put his/her name on anything
being handed in! Homework should be placed in the red box on my desk daily.
Homework: Week of 9/29
Monday - Find 2 disposable black objects. Put them in a bag with your name on
it. Bring them to school on Tuesday and glue them to a big chart!
Tuesday - Look for "A a" in the newspaper or magazine. Circle 5 of each.
Don't forget to put your name on the paper!
Wednesday - Color a picture of a basket of apples. How many apples are in the
basket? Write the number at the bottom of the paper.
Thursday - Look around your house for something that is in the shape of a
square. Then look for a circle. Draw a picture of the 2 objects.

Monday - Look around the house for something that is in the shape of a
rectangle. Then look for a triangle shape. Draw a picture of the 2 objects.
Tuesday - Look for something that is in the shape of an oval. Then look for a
rhombus (diamond) shape. Draw a picture of the 2 objects.
Wednesday - Cut out or color 3 things that begin with "a".
Thursday - Color a picture of your favorite autumn activity. What are you
doing?
Homework: Week of 10/13
Monday - Tell your family something important about Christopher Columbus.
Tuesday - Look for "Mm" in the newspaper or magazine. Circle 5 of each. Don't
forget to write your name on the paper!
Wednesday - Draw a picture of "Mommy". Write the word "Mommy" at the bottom
of the paper.
Thursday - Cut out or color 5 things that begin with "m".
Homework: Week of 10/20
Monday - Look for "Ee" in the newspaper or magazine. Circle 5 of each. Don't
forget to write your name on the paper!
Tuesday - Which do you like better-an eagle or an elephant? Color a picture
of each; then draw a circle around the one you like better.
Wednesday - Cut out or color 3 things that begin with "e".
Thursday - How has our environment changed during the autumn season? Draw a
picture of some of the changes we've seen outside this month so far.
Homework: Week of 10/27
Monday: Look for "Hh" in the newspaper or magazine. Circle 5 of each. Don't
forget to write your name on the paper!
Tuesday: Practice writing your first name 4 times. Remember - the first
letter is capital and everything else is lower case. Think about your letter
formations, too!
Wednesday: Cut out or color 5 things that begin with "h".
Thursday: What will you be for Halloween this year? Draw a picture of you
wearing your costume.
