Students work through four language arts centers each day. Each center runs
for twenty minutes.
I. Literature Circle: Here they work with the teacher on reading,
discussing and responding to a common text/ book.
II. Writing Center: Here students work on the Writing Process. They
compose creative, expository or responsive writings based on a theme that we
are studying in the classroom.
III. Daily Skills Center: In this particular center students work on
Daily Skills Folder assignments such as Phonics, Spelling, English exercises,
Math, Science or Social Studies.
IV. DEAR Center: Drop Everything And Read
At this center students read and write a response to literature written by
our current featured author.
