Overlook Primary School has been an important part of my life for many
years. My five daughters all attended Overlook when it was a K-5 school and
I was very active in the PTA. (I took 15 years off from teaching to be
an at-home mom.) I then decided it was time to get back into the classroom
and a TA position was available in the kindergarten/pre-first program. I was
a TA for about 7 years and was then offered a teaching position in the fifth
grade. I taught fifth grade for one year and have been teaching at the
second grade level for the past fourteen years.
My husband Tom and I have been married for 35 years and we've lived in
LaGrange for over 30 years. I love being a grandmother to Trent, age 12,
who's entering 7th grade and his sister, Abigail, age 8, who will start
4th grade in the fall. In my spare time I like to read, cook, do crafts
and go shopping.
I believe that each and every child is special and has gifts and qualities
unique to themselves. I hope that every student in my class has the
opportunity to use their unique talents and gifts and be appreciated for
them. We will all help each other grow and learn in a very safe and friendly
environment.
