Do you celebrate birthday's in 5th grade?

Yes, we do. You can deliver any goodies to the main office in a marked
container. Please be sure the container can be carried home by your child.

Do you need to know your math facts by 5th grade?

Absolutely!!!! All students should know their math facts by 5th grade.
Learning new math concepts will be difficult without this basic math
knowledge. If you don't know them, start reviewing them for 15 minutes every
night. Flash cards, workbook sheets and websites will help.

Should I ask my parents for help with my homework?

You may need a little help with directions, editing or neatness checks. By
November you should be able to do this on your own. The goal of a 5th grade
student is to become an independent learner.

Should I use an assignment pad daily?

Yes!! You need to use your assignment every day for the entire year. You are
required to write down every subject's assignment. If there is no assignment,
you should write "none" next to that subject. Assignments are written down
each day on the white board. You should copy them down before 2:15 each day.

How can I get in touch with Mrs. Ramsden?

My web site's home page has an email icon on the screen. If you click on
that, you can email me directly at school. I will email you back as soon as I
can. You can also send in a note with your child or call the main office.

How do I know if my child is not doing his/her assignments for class?

You will receive a NO HOMEWORK slip for any missed or late assignment. You
need to sign the slip and return to school the next day. If more than a few
NO HOMEWORK slips are being signed then it may be necessary to get together
and discuss how we can improve this situation.
