Hi All!
We are off to a great start this year. The students are working on getting
to know each other and forming a working community. We have been reviewing
school rules and routines in the hall ways, in the cafeteria, on the
playground and for dismissal (and we will review the bathroom rules
thoroughly this week). We have also done many activities to learn each
other's names, learn about our families and our likes and dislikes. Forming
a community that will work together for the year takes some time but it saves
all of us a lot of headaches later on.
This week we will be coming up with a list of classroom jobs, class rules and
logical consequences, learning how to do an Apology of Action with each other
when we hurt each other's feelings and learning we are responsible for our
OWN actions and what happens when those actions cause problems.
We will also begin working with our math and spelling units and write about
our Hopes and Dreams.
