About The Teacher
Ms.Sarah Combs – Theatre Arts Teacher at Arlington High school, she is also an actor and director. Ms. Combs has performed opposite Ed Ames in Shenandoah, as Fran in Promises, Promises with Barry Williams and in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with David Cassidy. She portrayed the role of Petra in the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway production of A Little Night Music directed by Tony Award nominee Susan Schulman, in which the New York Times called her performance “smashing.” Ms. Combs has appeared in the daytime dramas Guiding Light and All My Children and in the films The Flamingo Kid, The Purple Rose of Cairo, and Izzie and Moe with Art Carney and Jackie Gleason. Professionally, Ms. Sarah Combs has directed productions of Footloose, Annie Get Your Gun, High School Musical, Aida and Hairspray at TriArts Sharon Playhouse located in Sharon, Connecticut. Sarah was the director/producer of the Stissing Theatre Guild at the Pine Plains High School for nineteen years. This is her fourth year at Arlington teaching theatre arts to so many talented, nice students and directing Admiral Players. Locally, she can be heard in numerous radio commercials throughout the Hudson Valley. Ms. Combs is a long time member of the New York State Theatre Education Association(NYSTEA).
