The New York State English Language Arts (ELA) tests have been completed for
this year; results for individual students will be mailed home.
Students are encouraged to read independently for pleasure and they can get
extra credit in English class for completing a form on a book they have
read.
Soon it will be time for summer reading! Letters and book lists for the
required summer book reading assignment have been sent home in June.
Students will be required in all grades to read through one book over the
summer from
a list. The list has books of various reading levels and literature
categories. All students will complete a writing assignment in the first
marking period of the new school year on the book they have read. Encourage
your child to read for pleasure!
