Can I study for math?

 Yes.  Practicing problems will help you.  Review old tests and 
 quizzes.  Go to a web site and practice problems.

Do I have to show work?

Yes.  Show everything you do.  If you make a mistake it is 
easier to find out what you are doing wrong because everything 
you did is on paper.  You will be given partial credit for 
problems.

What do I need on the first day of school?

You need something to write with and something to write on. A 
notebook and pencil will be good.  NO PENS!!!!!!!

Is there a final exam?

Yes. Your final exam is in June and it covers all material from 
September through June. Save all of your test and quizzes.

Do we take a New York State Test in math?

Yes. You will take a New York State Test in math.  It will be in 
May. We will review for the test in class.

Is there extra help for math?

1)UVMS has Math Lab which is extra math help during periods 
4,5,6,and 7.  Math teachers are available during these periods.  
The schedule is found in Rm.107 and on the Math Lab page of my 
web site.
2)I can set up time during the day if needed. Ask.
3)District-Wide Tutoring Now Offered:  Last year the National 
Honor Society students started a community service program 
called Math Matters.  It was designed to pair high school 
students with middle school students and offer them extra help 
in math.  UVMS has Math Lab which is extra math help during 
periods 4,5,6,and 7.  Math teachers are available during these 
periods.  The schedule is found in Rm.107 and on the Math Lab 
page of my web site.
